Cheaper alternatives may be a room in one of the Bed & Breakfasts in Leuven or in the Youth Hostel "De Blauwput". The Youth Hostel is located at the back side of the station and can be booked online. You will have to walk through the station and take a bus on the other side which brings you in 20 min to the conference room.
